Since industrial hydrogen peroxide mainly contains hydroxide and sodium ions, hydroxide can combine with many kinds of metal ions to form flocs or precipitates. For example, as we all know, sewage contains metal ions such as aluminum ions or iron ions, strong acid salts and weak acid salts, etc., which react with hydroxide ions to produce flocs or insoluble precipitates. The flocculation principle is mainly to combine with the hydroxide in the sewage to form flocculent substances to achieve the flocculation effect. It can also remove excess acid ions in industrial sewage, such as Cl-(SO4)2-(PO4)3, etc. It is also often used to adjust the pH value, and the dosage of industrial hydrogen peroxide is determined according to the pH.
Environmental protection can treat all kinds of harmful wastewater, including detoxification, deodorization, and decolorization, especially suitable for wastewater treatment of sulfur compounds, cyanide, and phenols. It can be used alone or in combination with ozone or UV light. Using hydrogen peroxide to purify the soil polluted by leaked fuel oil or other organic matter can stimulate the regrowth of microorganisms, degrade pollutants, and treat waste gas containing NOx, SO2, H2S, etc., which can generate useful concentrated nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid. Hydrogen peroxide also improves the ability of biochemical processes to treat wastewater and prevents sludge bulking. When the wastewater is treated, the activated carbon used in the waste gas can be regenerated with hydrogen peroxide.
